UNION-TRIBUNE BREAKING NEWS TEAM

11:30 a.m. July 23, 2008

LA MESA – An 18-year-old man was assaulted Tuesday night by a group of men who pushed the teen into some bushes and robbed him.

The victim was walking with two female friends on Fletcher Parkway near Dallas Street around 10:15 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up next to them and six men got out, La Mesa police said.

The friends ran away as the group attacked the victim. They took his shirt and backpack before getting into a silver Dodge Neon with tinted windows, police said.

The attackers were all described as white and in their 20s, ranging in height from 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighing anywhere from 175 to 210 pounds.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call police at (619) 667-1400.
